New Establishment of Menicon SC GmbH
Concentration on core competencies
Menicon Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: 21-19, Aoi 3, Naka-ku, Nagoya, Japan; President and COO: Koji Kawaura) announced that Menicon SC GmbH (Address: Heinrich-Krumm-Str. 1-3, 63073 Offenbach am Main, Germany; Managing Director: Nikolaos Balauras) was newly established on March 27th, 2024.
To focus on its core competencies and to sustain competitive advantage, Menicon SC GmbH was spun off from Menicon GmbH. From now on, two business divisions—Supply Chain/Logistics Europe and Sales/Marketing DACH—will operate as two independent companies at the joint location in Offenbach am Main.
With the establishment of the new company, Nikolaos Balauras is appointed the sole Managing Director of Menicon SC GmbH, while Bastian Riebold continues to be responsible for Menicon GmbH. Both have worked together successfully for three years as joint Managing Directors of Menicon GmbH. They have been with the company for several years and know it from the ground up.
Nikolaos Balauras states the reason for establishing Menicon SC GmbH:
"We want to focus on our core competencies. Our aim is to align ourselves strategically in a better and more modern way, to optimize the supply chain from A to Z in its processes and to give our customers an excellent delivery performance."
In addition to faster product availability, product safety is a top priority. To do this justice, Menicon SC GmbH is currently undergoing the ISO 13485 certification process.
From its Offenbach am Main site, Menicon SC GmbH supplies replacement contact lenses to over 24 European countries and 6 countries outside Europe. The company has already reacted to the increasing growth and expanded the logistics area two years ago. Menicon will continue to deliver its innovative products and services efficiently and reliably to customers all over the world.
